Dr. Lynn Karoly

Senior Economist and Director
RAND Labor & Population Program

Dr. Karoly is Director of RAND's Labor and Population (L&P) Program. L&P conducts national and international research on a broad range of human resource issues, including social welfare policy and family and child well-being. Her research has focused on topics in labor economics and social welfare policy, with recent projects on the economic impact of welfare reform, the costs and benefits of early childhood intervention programs, changes in the distribution of income and wages in the United States, school-to-work transitions for youth, and retirement and health insurance. She is also a co-editor of The Journal of Human Resources and a member of the the Rand Graduate School faculty.

Dr. Karoly received her B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and a M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.
