Mrs. Donna Klein
As Vice President of Diversity & Workplace Effectiveness at
Marriott International, Inc., Mrs. Klein guides the strategic formation,
planning, development, implementation and management of corporate-wide
diversity and work-life initiatives. In 1999, she initiated Marriott's
Women's Leadership Initiative with a focus on the development and
retention of minority and women talent. She is also a nationally
known authority on work-life issues and has been the catalyst for
many employer-based collaborative projects addressing the complex
needs of the lower income worker. Currently, Mrs. Klein is leading
breakthrough work to launch Corporate Voices for Working Families,
a coalition focused on organizing the voices of the private sector.
Corporate Voices for Working Families will convene, communicate
and educate policy makers around policy support needed for working
families.
At a national level, Mrs. Klein is Chair of The Conference Board's
WorkLife Leadership Council, is a member of The Conference Board's
Diversity Council, and is member of Boston College's Work and Family
Roundtable. She is also a founder and current Co-chair of The Employer
Group, a partnership of employers engaged in identifying quality
of life solutions for hourly workers. In 1996, Mrs. Klein and Marriott
International were recipients of The Business Enterprise Trust Award
for creation of Marriott's Associate Resource Line. She is a frequent
speaker at local and national business conferences and spoke at
the Ten Downing Street Summit on Women in the New Economy during
1999.
