Career Services available to CMC Alumni

Virtually all career services that were available to you as a CMC student and some others unique to alumni needs are available to you as an alumna/us. There are no charges for CSC-provided services; affiliated programs may charge a fee for some services.

Please contact our Associate Director, Young Kwak, for information about alumni career services. When contacting us for service, please tell us your graduation year and alumni ID number (from your CMC Magazine mailing label).

Here is a brief overview of services:

Alumni Database
Your fellow alumni are available to talk to you about their jobs, organizations, and industries as well as offer advice about how to find work and develop your career. Conducting informational interviews with fellow alumni can be a very helpful activity, since it provides you with both information and personal contacts. Alumni Directory can be accessed through Alumni Gateway at http://www.cmc.edu/alumnigateway/. Just click on Alumni Directory and log in with your alumni username and password. If you don't know your username and password, please contact the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@cmc.edu or (909) 621-8097. We also encourage you to get involved with variety of networking opportunities that are offered by the Alumni Relations Office and the Alumni Chapters. Assessments
We offer Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory (SII) to assist you in clarifying your career-related needs. They can be taken online and interpreted by a trained, experience career counselor in person or by telephone. Other self-assessment tools can be recommended as well. Our "Career Assessment Guidelines," which can be requested from the CSC office, provide more detailed information.

Counseling
Individual career counseling allows you to work with an experienced staff member to clarify your situation and to obtain constructive feedback and recommendations for your job search and/or career development. Getting to know you personally allows us to tailor our suggestions to your particular situation.

Job Listings
There is a CMC Alumni Job Board through Alumni Gateway at http://www.cmc.edu/alumnigateway/. Just click on the Alumni Directory and log in with your alumni username and password. If you don't know your username and password, please contact the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@cmc.edu or (909) 621-8097. The jobs are listed under Alumni Employment Opportunities. Despite the availability of these listings, we encourage job-seekers to understand that there are large hidden job markets that are best explored through personal contacts, professional associations and relationships.
