Claremont Hall

A new LEED Silver residence hall is finished. The eco-friendly dorm is located between Beckett Hall and Marks Hall at the former location of Badgley Gardens. The project will help to relieve the overcrowding at Auen and Fawcett Halls and also increase the over-all campus bed-count, but the new dorm will mean more to the campus than just extra rooms. “I think people will be impressed with the overall design of the building. It’s very modern and has some amenities that students will notice immediately”, says Brian Worley, the Director of Facilities and Campus Services. Those amenities include outdoor terraces on the 2^nd and 3^rd floors, ample meeting space, a large lobby, two courtyards and air conditioning in all the rooms.  (SEE PHOTOS BELOW)

 

Auen and Fawcett Hall Renovation

In conjunction with Claremont Hall, the college also finished renovating Auen Hall and Fawcett Hall during the summer of 2008. The facelift included completely remodeling the interior of the building as well as replacing the heating and air conditioning systems. The new “4 pipe system” enables students to simultaneously use heat in one part of the building and air conditioning in another.

Ducey Gym Project

A renovation of Ducey Gym is also in the works. The project is expected to begin in November 2008, with completion in the winter of 2009. An animated fly through of the Ducey Gym Renovation is available by clicking on the photo below.                                 

Biszantz Family Tennis Center Project

The new Biszantz Family Tennis Center is scheduled for construction beginning in April 2008 with completion targeted for Winter 2008. The facility offers locker-rooms, offices, restrooms, an adjacent parking lot and a "championship court" with a larger seating area than the current tennis court. The new tennis center, located below 6th Street (adjacent to the Children's School) is being moved off campus to allow for a more appropriate use of campus space.
