Los Angeles Cocktail Reception at The California Club
On Friday, October 19th, the FEI and CMC's Alumni Relations Office hosted a cocktail reception in downtown Los Angeles at The California Club. Over 70 guests attended the event including alumni, faculty, staff, and 11 of the FEI Student Research Analysts. The event provided a tremendous networking opportunity for the students and featured comments from the FEI Director, Janet Smith. Maria Lohner '10 commented, "The cocktail reception was an excellent opportunity to reach out to the Los Angeles area alumni working in the field of finance. It was also great to see the recent alums that are now working in LA, learning about the responsibilities in their new positions, and receiving advice from them."

End-of-Year Luncheon
The FEI hosted a luncheon at The Seaver House on Thursday, May 10th to recognize students participating in the Financial Economics Sequence. FEI Director Janet Smith recognized each of the graduating seniors and student presentations were given by FEI research analysts Will St. Clair '07 and Chris Urban '07. The 40 guests at the luncheon included six FEI Board members, President Gann, Dean Hess, 11 faculty and staff members, and 21 students.

San Francisco Cocktail Reception at Weston Presidio
On Friday, June 30th a cocktail reception was hosted by Jim McElwee, FEI Chair, in San Francisco. Over 45 alumni, faculty, staff, and students attended the event which was held at the Weston Presidio offices overlooking the San Francisco Bay. FEI Board members in attendance included McElwee, Advisor Stephen McLin, and new FEI Associate Carol Hartman '86. CMC Trustees Bart Evans '70, David Hetz '80, and Fred Prager also joined us for the festivities.

The FEI hosted a luncheon in the Bauer Center Founders Room on Friday, May 12th to recognize students who completed the Financial Economics Sequence. The event included an acknowledgement of graduating seniors by Janet Smith and a presentation by Harvey Mudd student, George Malikov ’06. The 32 guests at the luncheon included five FEI Board members, six faculty and staff members, and 21 students.

End-of-Year Luncheon
The FEI hosted a luncheon at The Seaver House on Friday, May 13th to recognize students participating in the Financial Economics Sequence. FEI research analyst Eva Nazarewicz '05 coordinated the event that included an acknowledgement of graduating seniors by Janet Smith and student presentations by Justin Hance '06, Peter Hellwig '05, Kartheek Raju '08, Daniel Simon '07, and Paul VanDeventer '07. The 38 guests at the luncheon included four FEI Board members, President Gann, Dean Garris, nine faculty and staff members, and 23 students.
Classroom Guests
During the 2004-2005 academic year, FEI affiliated faculty members hosted several speakers who visited their classrooms to interact with students. FEI Advisor Robert Thomas (Cascade Investments) spoke with Bill Brown's corporate finance class in the fall and spring semesters. FEI Associate Scott Andron (Winter Street Capital) also spoke with Bill Brown's Investments class in the spring. FEI Advisor Brent Harris (PIMCO) visited campus to interact with students in Lisa Meulbroek's corporate finance class and Bill Brown's Investments course. Janet Smith also hosted Michael Lazarus (Weston Presidio) and FEI Advisor Perry Lerner (Fresh Direct) in her Economics of Strategy class in the fall.
