Cheryl Bronstein is helping faculty mentor Amy Kind (Department of Philosophy) in complete an annotated bibliography for her forthcoming article, "Imagery and Imagination," which will appear on the internet site "A Field Guide to Philosophy of the Mind."

Heath Hewitt works with faculty mentor Lisa Cody (Department of History) in her ongoing research and writing on medical education and midwifery in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century France.

Julie Jacoby assists faculty mentor Jonathan Petropoulos (Department of History) in his research for his forthcoming book on aristocrats and the changing role of the nobility in twentieth-century Germany.

Lawrence "Javier" Serrano helps faculty mentor John Roth in edit and prepare for publication new editions of books on Holocaust Studies that he co-authored several years ago with Robert Fossum and Richard Rubinstein.

Alison Sultan works with her faculty mentor, Dr. Frederick Lynch, in policy-oriented teaching and research on issues of juvenile delinquency, healthcare, and diversity.

Academic Year 2000-01

Vadim Alden-Alaverdov assisted mentor Judith Merkle (Department of Government) in research, planning, and compiling readings for a new course on propaganda.

Julia Hsieh assisted Dr. Jonathan Petropoulos (Department of History) in his research and preparation for a book he is writing on aristocrats and the Third Reich.

Grant Landis worked with Dr. Clark Kucheman (Department of Philosophy/Religious Studies) on various aspects involved in revising the course, Introduction to Religious Thought, to be taught in the Spring 2001 semester. 

Pey-Rong Lee assisted Dr. Audrey Bilger (Department of Literature) in her ongoing research on 18th-century British women's humor and satire.

Brent Rossum worked with Dr. Frederick Lynch (Department of Government) in "policy-oriented research on health care, the politics of the graying Baby Boomers, and the evolving diversity of American society." 

Matt Snell assisted Dr. Mark Blitz (Department of Government) in his work on contemporary political philosophers' views of responsibility.

Whitney Weitzel aided Dr. Christopher Wiedey (Department of Government) in his research and writing on James Madison's views on religion and politics.

Academic Year 1999-2000

David J. Duran assisted faculty mentor Joseph Bessette (Department of Government) in humanities-oriented research for a government textbook that Dr. Bessette is co-authoring with Professor John Pitney.

Matthew Henderson assisted faculty mentor Michael Riley (Film Studies) by locating primary and secondary sources (recordings, scripts, network documents, contemporary reviews, and such) that will enable Professor Riley to complete his book on the “golden age” of television drama.

Andrew Kendall worked with faculty mentor Robert Faggen (Department of Literature) in exploring the problem of exile in modern literature.  Andrew's language skills (fluent Russian) and literary interests were be a considerable asset in helping Professor Faggen further his own scholarly program.

Katherine Majewski assisted faculty mentor Judith Merkle (Department of Government) in preparing the book that Dr. Merkle is co-authoring with Professor Frederick Lynch on how aging “baby boomers” will grapple with the problems of ensuring that they will have a health care delivery system that will meet their needs in the coming decades.

Jessica O'Hare worked with faculty mentor Alan Heslop (Department of Government) in examining the philosophical arguments for term limits that were made by classical and early modern political theorists.

Corinne Quiñones worked with faculty mentor P. Edward Haley (Department of Government) in determining the degree and extent to which “Orientalism” (as defined by Edward Said) exerts an influence upon intellectual, cultural, and political life in the West.

David Ragsdale worked with faculty mentor John K. Roth in a study that will focus on the Catholic Church's position vis-à-vis the Holocaust, the Church's attempts since Vatican II to establish a dialogue with members of the Jewish faith, and the significance of the resurgent conservative element within the Catholic Church.

David B. Rosengard worked with faculty mentor Lisa Forman Cody (Department of History) in undertaking a comprehensive study of the role that British satire, in the period from 1842 to 1902, played in helping Britons define and construct their own self-image as well as that of the inhabitants of their expanding empire.

Albert A. Salsa assisted faculty mentor Frederick R. Lynch with research for his forthcoming book (co-authored with Dr. Judith Merkle) on aging “baby boomers” and their coming conflicts with a health care system that was not designed—or, in any event, not likely to be sufficient—to meet their needs.

Christine Schwartz worked with faculty mentors Robert J. Valenza (Department of Mathematics) and Ward E. Y. Elliott (Department of Government) in developing and applying new methods to evaluate the data compiled in the clinics that assessed the likelihood of non-Stratfordian claimants having authored Shakespeare's works.

Robert Tagorda worked with faculty mentor Peter Skerry (Department of Government) in examining the impact that immigration and Catholic parochial education have upon each other.
