Welcome

Welcome, my name is Kimberly and I am a student at CMC.

Most students already use email in everyday communication and some go further and use technology to communicate with social networking websites and instant messaging.

Throughout this program, I will show you different strategies and tools for effective online communication. I will show you how to write effective emails, demonstrate the use of online collaboration tools, and discuss the pros and cons of social networking.

Objectives:

By the time you have finished this study guide, you will be able to:

  • Communicate effectively in emails, instant messages and chat boards;
  • Organize school projects with online collaboration tools;
  • describe the advantages and disadvantages of social networking; and
  • Take advantage of other emerging e-Communication tools such as podcasting and RSS feeds

Workload:

You should be able to finish the entire program in about two hours. If you prefer, you can go through the program at your own pace, refer to it at any time you like, or select the individual topics you are interested in. Let’s get started!
