When to Cite
- Whenever you use data, statistics, or other factual information found in a source
- Whenever you quote, word for word
- Whenever you use another person's ideas, whether paraphrased, summarized, or otherwise
- Whenever you use a source's distinctive structure, organization, or method
- Whenever you mention any aspect of someone else's work - even as a passing remark
