First Year Frontier (FYF)
The mission of this new overnight leadership development program for first year students at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) is “To refine and develop leadership skills in first year students at CMC, utilizing an experiential program involving mentorship, collaboration, and insightful instruction focused on communication, stress management and responsible leadership.” As an overnight camping experience (28 hours), it will be full of experiential learning components focused on leader development and relationships between participants. Kravis-de Roulet Conference: Understanding and Assessing Soft Leader Skills
What: The conference will explore the different models, conceptualizations, and measures of the "soft skills" that are so necessary for effective leadership. By "soft skills" we are referring to the interpersonal skills, communication skills, persuasion skills, political skills, and emotional abilities used by leaders to inspire, motivate, and move followers toward the accomplishments of goals.

KLI International Internship Program
What: CMC sophomores and juniors who wish to pursue transformative international internships that enhances
cross-cultural understanding of leadership in the public (for-profit), governmental, or not-for-profit (social) sectors may
apply for KLI support.
When: Deadline is Feb 16, 2012 at noon – Applications should be submitted to Career Services Center

KLI Partnered Internship Program
What: KLI has partnered with several Kravis Prize organizations and other social service organizations to create summer
internships for CMC students.
When: Deadline is Feb 17, 2012 at noon – Applications should be submitted to Career Services Center

KLI Social Sector Internship Program
What: CMC students who are interested in domestic internships with social service organizations may apply for KLI support.
Support may be provided for U.S. internships with government, non-governmental, and non-profit organizations.
When: Deadline is March 20, 2012 at noon – Applications should be submitted to Career Services Center
