Congratulations on your nomination!
The online application must be completed during one sitting so review the list below before you start the application. The online application is password protected (your nominator should have provided this to you) and includes 6 sections:
1) Personal Information
2) Parent and Emergency Contact Information
3) Personal Statements (limited to 400 words each):
- Describe the extracurricular activities in which you have participated. Indicate any leadership positions that you have had, and describe the responsibilities connected to that position.
- Talk about a challenge that you have faced as a leader. Explain to us how you handled the situation and what you learned from that challenge.
- Why do you want to participate in the Step Up to Leadership program? What do you expect to gain from the experience and what do you hope to add to the program?
4) Open Ended Questions about Leadership (limited to 400 words each):
- When you think about leaders and leadership, who comes to mind?
- Who is the leader you most admire, and why?
- Who is the leader you would most like to be like?
- What is your definition of leadership?
- What kinds of leadership positions do you see or wish to see yourself holding in the future?
5) Scholarship Information
6) 2 Teacher/Staff Recommendations (Recommendation form, mailed in separetely)
