Michael Larson is the chief investment advisor to William H. Gates, III. He is responsible for all of Mr. Gates’ non-Microsoft investments as well as all of the investments of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Trust. Prior to his current position, Michael was at Harris Investment Management, Putnam Management Company, and ARCO.

Michael currently serves on the Board of Directors for AutoNation, FEMSA SAB, Republic Services Inc, Grupo Televisa SA, and Pan American Silver Corp. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for Hamilton Lane Advisors, L.L.C. and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for both the Western Asset/Claymore Inflation Linked Securities & Income Fund and the Western Asset/Claymore Inflation-Linked Opportunities & Income Fund.

Larson is a trustee at Claremont McKenna College and Lakeside School and Chairman of the Investment Committees at both schools. Michael also serves on the Investment Committees for the University of Washington and the UNCF Gates Millennium Scholars fund.

Michael earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Claremont Men’s College.
