Alumnus Jeff Klein on The Business of Media

Jeff Klein ’75 P’08, CEO of 101 Communications and a former senior manager for the Los Angeles Times and Times Mirror, will speak at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21. His topic is The Business of Media. The event is free and open to the public.

Trained as both a lawyer and a journalist, Klein was named as the most innovative CEO of a mid-sized trade publisher by B2B’s Media Business Magazine. During a 15-year career with the Los Angeles Times and Times Mirror, Klein served in the capacities of senior vice president and general manager, news and senior vice president of consumer marketing, and also as president of two large regional editions of the newspaper.

Klein, a summa cum laude CMC graduate, received a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University and is a graduate of Stanford Law School. He is a regular columnist to Folio, and has spoken at numerous industry events about marketing, management, and leadership.
