Cassi Wright '03 Awarded Ambassadorial Scholarship

Cassi Wright '03 has been awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study in the Dominican Republic next year.
"I got my first taste of experiencing another culture while I was abroad," said Wright. "Ever since, I've wanted to go back, learn about and serve a new community, and bring my Spanish skills to the next level. There's really no better way to appreciate cultural differences."
Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships encourage international goodwill and further understanding among people of different countries. Recipients act as ambassadors to the people in their host country, giving presentations about their home nation to Rotary clubs.
The Rotary Foundation has provided more than 30,000 men and women from 100 nations that opportunity to study abroad since the inception of the Ambassadorial Scholarship program in 1947. It is the world's largest privately funded international scholarship program, with grants totaling $26 million. Last year, more than 1,100 scholarships were awarded, enabling recipients from 69 countries to study in 64 nations.
Wright, a Robert A. Day 4+1 student, currently is finishing her year at the Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management at CGU.
