Claremont McKenna College Symposium Celebrates 25 Years of Coeducation March 2, 2002

Twenty-five years of coeducation at Claremont McKenna College will be commemorated with a symposium and luncheon on Saturday, March 2, at CMC. Events are hosted by the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association and the Women's Forum. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum.

Luncheon keynote speaker, Betsy Berns '90, is the founder and president of Bvision Sportsmedia, LP. An accomplished female sports figure who has dedicated her career to making mainstream sports more accessible to women, Berns is the author of several books including The Female Fan Guide to Pro Football and the upcoming Win, Place, and Show: An Introduction to the Thrill of Thoroughbred Horse Racing. She has also served as a consultant to the National Football League, for which she designed, developed and implemented their Football 101 series, which is offered in every NFL market.

The symposium will include four discussion sessions: Work and Family: A Balancing Act; Coeducation and the College Athlete; The First Amendment on a College Campus; and Alumnae in Leadership. A faculty panel discussion will focus on 1976 to Present.
