The city of Claremont celebrates its 60th anniversary observing Independence Day with its Fourth of July Celebration and Festival, a daylong, community-wide event involving more than 50 volunteers and a half-year of planning.

Tickets are now on sale for the Fourth of July fireworks show at Pomona College’s Strehle Track; cost per ticket is $6 in advance and $8 at the gate. Tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Claremont City Hall (207 Harvard Ave.), Claremont Human Services (1700 Danbury Rd.), Claremont Chamber of Commerce (205 Yale Ave.), VONS (550 E. Baseline Rd.), and Wolfe’s Market (160 W. Foothill Blvd.).

The day’s events begin with a Kiwanis pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7 to 10 a.m., and the Claremont Village Freedom 5000 1K and 5K Races & Walk (with start times at 7:30 and 8 a.m., respectively).

Information about these events and more are provided below. All activities (with the exception of the fireworks show) will be held at Memorial Park: 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.
