CMC Professor Roderic Camp Available for Expert Comment on Mexico Visit of President Bush

Who:

Dr. Roderic Camp, Claremont McKenna College Professor of Government and McKenna Professor of the Pacific Rim, is available for comment and analysis surrounding President Bush’s visit to Mexico and his meetings with President Vicente Fox. Sample topics include:

* Differences in how residents of the U.S. and Mexico conceptualize democracy;
* How those differences affect their attitudes toward significant domestic and bilateral policy issues;
* Similarities and differences between President Bush and President Fox.

Why:

Dr. Camp is currently leading a two-year study at CMC examining American and Mexican views of democracy. He has been a visiting professor at the Colegio de Mexico and the Foreign Service Institute and is a three-time Fulbright Fellow. Dr. Camp is the author of numerous articles and 20 books about Mexico and its politics, most recently Crossing Swords, Politics and Religion in Mexico (Oxford University Press, 1997), and Politics in Mexico (Oxford University Press, 1996).
