CMC Ranked 10th Nationally In 2006 U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges

Claremont McKenna College has been ranked 10th in the nation among liberal arts colleges in the 2006 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, tied with Davidson College. Increasing from 13th place the previous year, CMC's rankings reflect continued strong placements in all categories, particularly among graduation rate, selectivity, and faculty resources. The annual rankings examine the nation's 215 liberal arts colleges.

"This top-ten rating continues to place Claremont McKenna College in exceptionally strong company, and reflects the College's tradition of academic excellence and vibrant and dedicated faculty and students," said CMC President Pamela Gann.

Additional results include eighth-place in a separate ranking of Great Schools, Great Prices, which relates academic quality to the net cost of attendance with the average level of need-based financial aid; and twelfth nationally in a new category, Economic Diversity, which considers the percentage of Pell Grant recipients (family income less than $40,000).

Rankings of sister institutions within The Claremont Colleges include: Pomona College, #6, Harvey Mudd College #18, Scripps College #27, and Pitzer College #53.
