Intelligent Talk
It was just too good to pass up. During a campus visit in October, we asked CNN host and Newsweek editor and columnist Fareed Zakaria if he could spare 20 minutes for an interview with Minxin Pei P’11, the Tom and Margot Pritzker ’72 Professor of Government, Roberts Fellow, and director of the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies. Zakaria was happy to oblige, and the resulting discussion between the television host and the China expert can be seen online.

Kristen Mallory, director of CMC’s Office of Off Campus Study, soon begins a three-year term on the Academic Council of IES Abroad, one of the nation’s oldest, largest, and most reputable study abroad providers, which enrolls more than 5,000 students annually in more than 90 programs around the world. A former Peace Corps volunteer (Chad, 1988-90), Mallory believes every college student should study or intern abroad before graduating.
