Date: Tuesday, November 12, 2013
Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: McKenna Auditorium
Students considering law school won’t have to travel far to have their law-related questions answered. On Tuesday, November 12 from 6:30–8:00 p.m. in McKenna Auditorium, CMC will host its second annual law school fair. Organized by CMC Career Services and the West Coast Consortium of Private Law Schools, representatives from over 20 schools — including USC, Loyola Marymount, and all the U.C.s — will be on campus to discuss all aspects of their programs, from their admission and financial aid policies to their curricular and externship offerings.
Immediately preceding the fair from 6:00–6:30 p.m., admission deans will conduct a panel discussion, “Law School: Myths and Facts,” a forum for students to ask their most pressing questions about law school.
“Last year was our first attempt at a law school fair,” stated Jason Jeffrey, CMC’s Pre-law Advisor. “And though successful, we wanted to expand the event this year to include both private and public schools, be more representative of the schools to which our students apply.” With the addition of U.C. Berkeley, UCLA and the rest of the U.C.s, Mr. Jeffrey noted that “we’ll achieve that breadth and play host to nearly every ABA accredited law school on the west coast.”
The event is open to students at all the Claremont Colleges as well as the local community. Both the fair and panel discussion will take place in McKenna Auditorium at CMC. Registering in advance for both events is recommended and may be done through ClaremontConnect.
