Fourth annual economic forecast conference sponsored by CMC attracts industry experts

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, CMC will co-host (along with UCLA) the fourth annual CMC-UCLA Inland Empire Forecast Conference.

As in the past, the Forecast will present the latest independent quarterly economic projections for the nation, state and region, introducing GDP estimates for the Inland Empire and its major cities.

The event also will include various panels discussing healthcare and the Affordable Care Act in the Inland Empire, plus industry leaders reacting to the forecasts. An economists question and answer session is also slated.

After welcoming remarks by CMC President Hiram E. Chodosh, Jerry Nickelsburg, senior economist, UCLA Anderson Forecast, will give the national and state forecast, and Manfred Keil, CMC's associate professor of economics, will relay the Inland Empire economic forecast.

Panelists also will address the issue of healthcare and the Affordable Care Act in the Inland Empire and include, Janice Rutherford, chair, San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors; John Tavaglione, supervisor, Riverside County; and Deborah Freund, president, Claremont Graduate University.

Panelists who will give industry reactions to the forecasts are Noel Massie, regional president, UPS; John Semcken III, senior vice president, Majestic Realty; and Randall W. Lewis, executive VP, Lewis Group of Companies.

The Conference, presented jointly by the Inland Empire Center of CMC and UCLA Anderson Forecast, is sponsored by Citizens Business Bank and begins with a breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Citizens Business Bank Arena: 4000 E. Ontario Parkway, Ontario.
