Gavin DeGraw Tickets on Sale
Tickets are now on sale for the Feb. 11 Gavin DeGraw concert at Bridges Auditorium, co-sponsored by ASCMC and Pomona College.
Student tickets each are $10 with ID, and are limited to two tickets per person. Tickets for faculty and staff are $15. Tickets for the general public, priced at $20 each, go on sale Friday, Jan. 21. Tickets may be purchased on campus at The Hub, or at the Bridges Auditorium box office.
Jim Nauls, assistant dean of students for student activities and apartment housing, says the DeGraw concert is a major coup–one of just three California appearances by the artist, and the only college venue for the performer this season. Opening for DeGraw is special guest Michael Tolcher, a native of Lovejoy, Ga., whose debut album, I Am, mixes “unfailing melodic and organic pop sensibilities with a deep understanding of soul, R&B, and urban grooves.”
E-mails and phone inquiries about the concert already are being fielded by the Dean of Students Office, including- says Naulsa call from a San Diego woman who wants to attend, after seeing the performer at the House of Blues in New Orleans.
DeGraw, a recent guest on Live with Regis and Kelly and Good Morning America, performed in the Jan. 7 and Jan. 14 episodes of the WB’s What I like About You, starring actress Jennie Garth.
The singer/songwriter grew up in the Catskill Mountains of Upstate New York and was inspired musically by his parents. He first began songwriting while spending his teenage years performing in various cover bands. Described as “destined for stardom” by Time Out New York, DeGraw arrived in New York City in the late ’90s and created such buzz that he was offered several record deals before eventually signing with Clive Davis and his J Records label. His debut album, Chariot, was released in 2003.
