Home Again, Home Again:

The Pig Stays

CMCers have brought home the bacon---again.

As part of a continuing 10-year-old rivalry between the senior classes of CMC, Pitzer, Scripps, and Pomona colleges, the smiling pig trophy is awarded to whichever senior class has the highest participation rate for the Senior Class Fund. Last year, CMC won the pig trophy for the first time since 1998, with the same participation rate clocked in this year's rally: 95 percent.

Senior Fund gifts are collected over a five-week period that ends May 1. A total of 247 gifts were pledged by seniors this year, totaling $3,083. A Parent's Club challenge helped fatten the pig by matching every donation ---regardless of size--- by $20.

The Senior Fund contest is led by Nate Hearn, CMC's assistant director of annual giving, and Senior Gift Committee chairs Namita Kalyan '03 and Rebecca Hermanowicz '03.

With a 95 percent participation rate for Senior Class Fund contributions, CMC's graduating Class of 2003 won the coveted pig trophy for another year.
