Summer personnel changes brought both new faces as well as adjustments in the roles of Facilities and Campus Services staff members.
Kace Kush has replaced Damaris Hankins as administrative coordinator in charge of keys and card-key programming, and with the recent retirement of Kathy Lowe, Terry Ruiz has assumed the role of housekeeping working day supervisor. In an expanded role, Jose Huezo is now supervising housekeeping and grounds and maintenance staff. Marsha Tudor has relinquished conference coordination and other duties to focus on emergency preparedness, with Erin Kelly moving into the position of coordinator of summer conferences and special events, including Astra scheduling, conference and facilities rentals, campus moves, and campus events.
Director of Facilities and Campus Services Brian Worley says the summer reorganization was, in part, a response to a greater emphasis on emergency preparedness and also an effort to centralize the scheduling of conferences and calendaring of events. "The core purpose of Story House is to provide the best possible environment in support of CMC's mission," Worley says.
In this regard, he says, an anticipated outcome could be an online master calendar for the campus. "We also will gradually be migrating to more card-key access on campus.
"When you add to this the ambitious plans for renovation and new construction on CMC's campus, it is going to be a busy year at Story House," Worley says. "We're ready to help make this a memorable year."
