CMC junior Raza Ahmad will perform the lead role of Hugo in the Pomona College Department of Theatre & Dance's production of Ring Round the Moon.
Ahmad, from Islamabad, Pakistan, took a year off before starting college to organize a production, Dead Shadows, with a youth theater group. The production was a fundraiser for Rozan, an organization dedicated to the emotional health of women and children of Pakistan. He has been involved in the department since his freshman year, playing the roles of the Porter in the spring 2002 production of Macbeth, Pablo in the fall 2001 production of A Streetcar Named Desire, and Jerry in a spring 2001 student-run production of Zoo Story.
Ring Round the Moon will run Oct. 3-6 in the Allen Studio Theatre of Seaver Theatre. Show times are 8:00 p.m., with matinees also offered at 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6.
