Parents Pay a Visit

Parent Network President Jill Mullen P'12 welcomed more than 550 family members visiting from 30 different states, and representing 188 students, to CMC for Parents Weekend. Families had a lively time, getting an insider's view of the College, and the chance to experience CMC's culture firsthand.

"Congratulations to Parent Network Program Co-Vice Presidents Alice Hudson P'05 P'12 and Christel Filippelli P'14 P'14 for their leadership and hard work organizing the many events of the weekend, and to Assistant Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Susan Edwards for handling all of the logistics with aplomb." Vice President for Alumni and Parent Relations John Faranda `79 said. "Parents really seem to enjoy the opportunity to attend all of the discussions, athletic events, lectures, and meals, and especially the opportunity to attend CMC classes on Monday without fear of quizzes or extra tuition payments!"

The weekend began with a Town Hall Meeting with President Gann and was followed by a Parents Found Donor Recognition Brunch. Other programs featured professor Andrew Busch, CMC's Career Services Center, and the Centers for Global Education and Civil Engagement. The weekend was also highlighted by a special student panel presentation featuring research institutes, and a reading by Eliza Kellerman '14 from her novel, Prism.
The program had broad appeal and included a variety of student-featured cultural and athletics events. And ultimately, we think parents went home feeling better acquainted with the campus, and fulfilled by quality time spent with their students.
