Professor Halpern On Talk of The Nation

Professor of psychology Diane Halpern, who also serves as director of the Berger Institute for Work, Family, and Children at Claremont McKenna College, will be one of four guest panelists featured on NPR's "Talk of the Nation: Science Friday" show airing from 2 to 3 p.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 2, and hosted by Ira Flatow. Southern California residents can tune in to the broadcast, tentatively titled Gender Difference in Learning, through KPCC-FM, 89.3 in Pasadena, from 9 to 11 p.m. The broadcast will be live from the National Geographic Society building in Washington, D.C.

Halpern, past president of the American Psychological Association, will again be speaking in Washington, D.C., on Friday, Dec. 9 at a public convocation hosted by the National Academies Committee on Women in Academic Science and Engineering. The event will explore the impact of sex and gender on recruiting, hiring, promotion, and retention of academic science and engineering faculty.
