Repeat SCIAC Champs:
A Recap of CMS Winter Sports

Congratulations to the CMS winter sports teams, who have completed successful seasons. Three of the four ended the season as repeat SCIAC Champions. Swimming & Diving At the SCIAC Championships Feb. 21-23 in Long Beach, the Athenas swimming and diving team won their ninth straight conference title. CMS won the event with 1072.5 points, followed by Redlands with 695 points. (Read more.) Michele Kee '14, Jenni Rinker HMC '11, Carmen Lundell '13, Katie Bilotti '12, and Tessa Dover '11 all earned All-SCIAC First Team honors.
The Stags swimming and diving team won their fourth straight conference title at the SCIAC Championships. The men won with 921 points, with Redlands coming in second with 739 points. (Read more.) Andrew Fevery '13, Vincent Pai HMC '12, and Jordan Lieberman '13 all earned All-SCIAC First Team honors.
Eight Athenas and eight Stags qualified to swim at the National Championship, to be held in Knoxville, Tenn., March 23-26. Sixteen qualifying for nationals is the highest total for the men and women combined. (Read more.) Basketball Back on the court, the CMS Men's basketball team beat Pomona-Pitzer in the final season game to finish as SCIAC Co-Champions with Redlands. (Read more.) It is the Stags third straight SCIAC title. The Stags moved on to the conference tournament, beating University of La Verne, but eventually fell to the Redlands bulldogs in the championship game. (Read more.) The Stags ended the season 11-3 in the conference. Patrick Lacey '10 and Joseph Anderson 12 earned All-SCIAC honors.
The Athena's basketball team ended the season with a conference record of 9-5, finishing third in SCIAC. Their third place finish earned them a spot in the playoffs, competing first against Redlands. After winning that game, the Athenas lost to Occidental in the championship game. (Read more.) Frannie Hemmelgarn 13, Aria Krumwiede 12 and Kalika Tullock '12 earned All-SCIAC honors.
