Like it or not, George Bush and Tony Blair have set the world’s agenda. The rest of us must now shift our focus and concentrate not on the war but on the postwar reconstruction of Iraq and the creation of a decent, stable government for the Iraqi people.

But reconstruction must not be limited to Iraq. Britain and the United States will also have to repair relations with some their most important friends, including France and Germany. [More]
