Message from James Uwins

Lt. James Uwins contacted John Faranda, vice president of alumni affairs, to thank him for passing along the good wishes of dozens from the CMC community. The note from James follows.

John,

Thank you very much for the encouragement. I had a Marine Corps public affairs rep come into my ward about an hour before the "press conference" to see if I would speak (they had a soldier that had been prepped for the conference, but he pulled out last minute). I had no idea what I was getting into.

I am leaving for Bethesda tomorrow morning, and hopefully will be back at Camp Lejeune within a week or two. My leg looks like it is going to be the longest recovery, six to eight weeks before it will be weight-bearing I am being told.
