Stand-Up Comedian and Actor
Aziz Ansari at Bridges April 14

On April 14th, Claremont McKenna will welcome LA-based comedian and actor Aziz Ansari.
Ansari currently plays Tom Haverford on NBC's Parks and Recreation, a character known for his lack of motivation and tendency to philander. Ansari's performance is well received by both critics and fans alike. Prior to Parks and Recreation, the comedian appeared in a small recurring role in Scrubs.
On the silver screen, Ansari has appeared in Get Him to the Greek, Funny People, and I Love You, Man. His latest role is in 30 Minutes or Less, a film which also stars Jesse Eisenberg and is slated for release this August.
Ansari is also one of three comedians in the sketch comedy group Human Giant. The group had a show on Comedy Central for two seasons, running in 2007 and 2008.
Originally hailing from Columbia, South Carolina, Ansari made his way to New York University for an undergraduate degree in marketing. While attending classes in the city, he started performing stand-up comedy. In 2006, the comedian was the recipient of the Jury Award for "Best Stand-up" at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado.
Tickets for Ansari's night of stand-up on April 14th are priced at $20 for 5C students and $40 for the public. Tickets will be available at the Bridges box office (909-621-8032) and through Ticketmaster.com.
