"My year studying at the University of London was the transformative experience of my life. I left the United States intent on becoming a lawyer. I returned with a fascination for European history and culture - one that compelled me to go to graduate school and get my Ph.D. in European history. But it all started in tutorials with my British professors: a cup of tea, a critique of my essay, and a spirited discussion. I confess that I thought - And people can do this for a living?"
Jonathan Petropoulos, John V. Croul Professor of European History and Director of the Gould Institute
