Mary F. evans

Mary F. Evans is the Jerrine and Thomas Mitchell 66 Associate Professor of Environmental Economics and George R. Roberts Fellow in the Robert Day School of Economics and Finance at Claremont McKenna College.


Her primary research and teaching interests lie in the field of environmental economics. Past research examines how individual characteristics, in particular age, health status, and family structure, affect the willingness to pay for reductions in mortality risks; the consequences of environmental auditing for facility compliance; the design of mandatory environmental information disclosure programs.


She received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her B.A. from James Madison University. Prior to joining Claremont McKenna College in 2009, she was an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee.
