No, the construction of Roberts Pavilion will not affect activities on Zinda Field although the normal traffic patterns in and out of the stadium will be changed as the construction site will close the east/west routes through Ducey and the South parking lot. Access from the apartments will not change, but from the west side of campus, pathways north of the old tennis courts will be the route.
We expect to be able to continue pool use during the academic year, but it is unclear whether the early phase of construction (Summer 2014) will require the pool to be closed.
Roberts Pavilion not only benefits CMS Athletics and its student-athletes but the Claremont McKenna College community as a whole. The Pavilion will serve as a fitness and events center for CMC in addition to being the athletic center for Claremont-Mudd-Scripps’ intercollegiate, intramural, and physical education programs.
