Study Abroad

Are your analytical abilities based only on your experiences in the U.S.? How international is your resume?  Do you speak a foreign language? Have you had experience interacting on a personal and proficient level with people from strategic countries around the world?  Do you know when to greet someone with a handshake, a bow, or a kiss on the cheek?  Can you readily find a country or city on a world map?

Experiencing an academic year or semester abroad can help you define not only who you are and your future goals, but contributes to your ability to fully understand the differences in the world around us - making you a more multi-talented person, colleague, and leader.  Study abroad alumni have proven capable of taking risks that others have not.

In fact, study abroad is no longer a matter of individual growth, but of national strategic importance. Business has gone global.  The workplace is more culturally diverse.

Fougeret de Monbron said it best when in 1761 he wrote: "The world is a book, he who stays at home reads only one page."
